The problem with asking people for photos

Most site monitoring still runs on goodwill. A site manager remembers to photograph the work, sends it by email or a messaging app, and the pictures end up scattered across four inboxes and nobody's archive.

That arrangement fails exactly when it matters. The week you need to know what the drainage looked like before it was backfilled is the week nobody photographed it.

A fixed camera removes the human step. It photographs the site every ten minutes whether anyone remembers or not, and it files the result in one place that everyone reads from.

What remote monitoring looks like day to day

Open the portal in a browser and you see the current state of each site you have access to. Spin the project timeline back to any date and hour to see what was happening then.

Progress meetings stop being an argument about what happened. So does the weekly report: pull the photos for the period you are reporting on and attach them.

Because the record is continuous and timestamped, it also answers the questions that surface months later, when a delay, a variation or a defect needs a date attached to it.

Several sites, one portal

Contractors rarely run one project. Each site is its own project in the portal, and you move between them without logging in again.

Access is granted per project. A subcontractor working on one site sees that site only; the client sees theirs; an investor sees the ones they funded; your own team sees what you allow.

Where you want to show progress outside the portal — to buyers, to a municipality, on your own website — a share link does it, with an optional password.

What monitoring here does not mean

This is documentation, not surveillance and not security. There is no live video feed, no motion detection and no automated analysis of what the pictures show.

What you get is an honest, continuous, timestamped record of the site, stored in the EU, that people can read for themselves and reach their own conclusions from.
